Return to History 8 India Vocabulary

Braham, or Brahma, is the Hindu god of creation. His job was to make the world and all of its plants and animals. He is not worshipped as much today he was long ago because his role is over. He is part of the Hindu trinity, with Vishnu, the "preserver and protector of the universe", and Shiva, "the destroyer". These three gods are also a part of Brahman, the supreme being of the universe. Brahma has four heads, and used to have five, but it got cut off in an argument. the four extra heads came from living a woman, and he never wanted he to leave his sight.
