Describe in detail steps 7 & 8
Back to History 8 India Manual questions
Steps 7 and 8 of the 8 Fold Path are right mindfulness and right concentration. First, the 8 Fold Path is the moderate way that is followed by Buddha in search for enlightenment. Right mindfulness is the ability in one's mind to see things as they are with clear state of mind. It is a way of living in the moment and not focusing about past or future. One must be diligently aware, mindful, and attentive with regards to ideas, feelings and actions. Right concentration, the last principle of the path is when all mental faculties are together and go towards one particular object. The purpose of this ability is to be wholesome concentration. The mind is trained and disciplined to focus fully and only on joy and to discard personal, unhealthy and distracting desires. -Charlotte Wilson
