Asuncion is a city with a mild climate and year-round, but highly variable rainfall and no dry season. This is due to the fact that it is somewhat near the equator, which is known for its rainy climate. The prevailing winds are easterlies and carries colder temperatures. It is generally hilly and has the Paraguay River flowing through the middle. It has forest areas spread out among it, which are full of hardwoods. It is not close to the ocean.
