Has a humid subtropical climate.[6]

Asuncion is a city with a mild climate and year-round, but highly variable rainfall and no dry season. This is due to the fact that it is somewhat near the equator, which is known for its rainy climate. The prevailing winds are easterlies and carries colder temperatures. It is generally hilly and has the Paraguay River flowing through the middle. It has forest areas spread out among it, which are full of hardwoods. It is not close to the ocean.

Nearest Plate Boundary The nearest plate boundary is 875.5 miles away and it is the Nazca, South American plate boundary.

Underground Geology

Underlying Rocks There are large deposits of sedimentary rocks beneath Asuncion, probably because of the main river and its tributaries that flow near the city.[7]
