Climate zone :Mediterranean
Notes on climate:Since Naples is so close to the Mediterranean Sea, the ocean is one of the main factors affecting its climate. This is reflected by its high monthly rainfall and relatively mild summers and winters.
Geology
Composition: The area consists of extrusive igneous rock, mainly rhyolite, rhyodacite, trachyte, and latite. This is probably due to the proximity of Mt. Vesuvius and past volcanic activity in the region.
Plate Location: Naples is on the Eurasian plate about 168 km away from the boundary between the Eurasian Plate and the African Plate, which is a subduction boundary.
