Four Noble Truths

The Four Noble (or Aryan) Truths are the most basic and essential part of Buddha, "The Enlightened One's", teachings. The fourth truth's are, most simply:

1. All life involves suffering.

2. The cause of suffering is desire and attachment.

3. To end suffering, end the desire and attachment.

4. The way to overcome desire and attachment is to follow the Eightfold Path.
