Background

A historical force is a movement or idea that has such a power that it will undeniably sweep over large areas, perhaps the entire world. These ideas can include a new type of technology, religion, or language. Such movements sweep across the world relatively quickly and in the past, quite bloodily. A major change in history is always controversial with the world's inhabitants, and there is much resistance. Many people died in the movement that was Christianity. Many people died when a new government came into power in Egypt.

Example

Anderson Barclay Historical Forces include the spreading of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. Even though Jesus had died, his demand for christianity to be known throughout the Roman Empire had not. Around 325 A.D., Paul, one of Jesus' apostles, went throughout the Roman Empire preaching about Christianity. While this was happening, Christianity was doubling and even tripling! This is a Historical Force because the rate of Christianity was moving quickly.

Luc Ware Historical Forces are the assertion that certain ideas, movements, etc., become irresistible forces that advance around the world. One example of a Historical force is communism. In the 1917 October Revolution in the Soviet Union, the Bolsheviks seized control of Russia. Communism comes from the Latin word communis, which means "shared" or "belong to all". The Bolsheviks created a government that was classless, moneyless, and stateless social order, that was based on means of production. Communism wasn't contained inside the Soviet Union. Lenin wanted to spread communism and did, another world powerhouse China turned to communism in 1978. Other Countries include: North Korea Cuba China Laos Vietnam Cyprus Moldova Nepal Angola Nicaragua Afghanistan (1978 - 1992) Albania (1946 - 1991) Angola (1975 - 1992) Benin (1975 - 1990) Bulgaria (1946 - 1990) Congo (1970 - 1992) Czechoslovakia (1948 - 1990) Ethiopia (1987 - 1991) Finland (1939 - 1940) East Germany (1949 - 1990) Greece (1947 - 1949) Grenada (1979 - 1983) Hungary (1919, 1949 - 1989) Cambodia (1975 - 1993) Mongolia (1924 - 1992) Mozambique (1975 - 1990) Poland (1945 - 1989) Romania (1947 - 1989) Somalia (1970 - 1991) Soviet Union (1922 - 1991) Tannu Tuva (1921 - 1944) North Vietnam (1945 - 1976) Yemen (1967 - 1990) Yugoslavia (1943 - 1992)

Stalin's hope was that Russia would become such a military powerhouse that it would stand up to the other powerful nations. His efforts fell short, and as we've learned, the Soviet Union slowly fell apart due to these economic disadvantages.

Historical forces do not only take place in other countries. In our own country, the USA, we have had multiple examples of historical forces. One of the most shocking but true is after the Civil War, the racism to african americans kept going. It is obvious historical forces took place after the Civil War because Civil Rights Movents weren't until many years later. Although the North took african americans into their society, the south had a harder time letting them adjust. An accurate definition of hisorical forces is: ideas or movements that can affect history on their own, even if the people who promote it are dead. Although the first racists of african americans died, the racism lasted for a while after which proves this example to be a historical force.

Peter Buckman

Historical Forces are ideas and movements, that last over time. One such example is in World War 2, when the Germans thought the Aryan race, was the so- called "master race", of blond hair, blue- eyed people. This idea led them to the belief of antisemitism, and made them commit mass genocide of the Jews (killing about 6- million Jews) along with prisoners of war, and other groups of people. This occured in Nazi- Germany from the start of their invasion of Poland in 1938, to VE day in 1945. This supports the historical forces theory, because antisemitism and "aryanism" was still believed throughout Germany and now, even after Hitler, the creator of the idea, died. Recently, Corfu synagogue was attacked and set on fire. This shows that antisemitism is a historical force, today.

Juliet Alexander A historical force is a force that is so powerful that even if the founder dies the idea lives on. A great example of this is Martin Luther King and his march for freedom in America from the 50's to the 60's. The idea of equal rights is so powerful that once it begun there was a huge change African Americans attitude they were sitting in place designated for whites, drinking from white fountains, eating at white restaurants and going to white schools. All of these minor but major events led up to Martin Luther's I have a dream speech. Unfortunately on April 4, 1968 Martin Luther was shot on his balcony and killed. This was a very sad time but it didn't stop anyone from protesting in fact more people joined and they fought until everyone had equal rights. Equal rights is a big historical force it has lasted to present day and will go on and even though Martin Luther died his idea lived on.

Pearse Higgason Historical forces are sometimes caused by events that occur and someone is forced to change their ways in order to keep thriving. One of these events happened in America after WWII. When the men returned home from fighting in the army, they took the jobs of the women that were encouraged to work to keep the country running and help the war effort. The women weren't to happy about that, but they were happy to see their husbands agian. In fact, they were so happy to see their husbands again that they started having babies. Once these babies grew enough to be able to go off to school, the housewives started to miss work again because there was no baby business to attend to and house chores were boring. In the 1950s, once women decided that they wanted to start working, the economy expanded tremendously becasue there were much more people working. Other countries that had to compete with America's economy also started to involve women in the workforce despite their anti-gender equality ideas that were previously used. This swept across the world quickly, and in present day there are many women working. Women working eventually lead to more oppurtunites in life for women, and in many countries across the world this was the beginning of gender equality. [3]

Harry Feldman A historical force is an idea that inevitably and forcefully sweeps over a nation or the world. An example of such an occurrence is the idea of a smart phone, or any other kind of mobile technology. Regardless of the manufacturer consumer, or place, anywhere in the world, there will almost always be someone who owns a smart phone. Ten years ago, the number of owners of what we call "smart phones" was zero. No one owned a smart phone because they did not exist at the time. Now, it is up there with the toothbrush. Of course such a change demands to be kept by all cultures, as it is a non gender specific, non culture specific item. It is very easily accessible and customizable. When the iPhone was released for public sale around 2008, the world changed. Immediately other technology companies were racing to find out the secret to mobile technology, putting their own spin on it. Everyone had one. 5 years later, today, there are over 1000 different smart phones in the world. Regardless of when this technology came ab out, it was bound to take over the world at some point in history.

Kurt Louie The historical force theory is the theory that popular ideas and movements will become forces that cannot be stopped. One of the more well known examples of historical forces is the American Civil Rights Movement, in which African-American's pushed for equality . The Civil Rights Movement kicked off in 1954 with the Brown Decision, which outlawed racial segregation in public schools. It is hard to imagine how over the course of 60 years, America has changed from a country where African-Americans couldn't go to the same schools, use the same restrooms, or even ride on the same part of the bus as white people, to a free country where we don't discriminate against others. Equality for all races soon became a historical force that no one could stop, and eventually, that force changed America for good. The historical force theory provides an explanation as to why we change so much.

"Schuyler A. Gustafson"

Born out of the frustration of the increasing amount of government spending and control, the Tea Party Movement grew rapidly in size and influence beginning in 2009. Interestingly, TeaParty.org was created in September 2004. They find inspiration from those who participated in the Boston Tea Party. It is a political movement that advocating "Constitutional conservative values." There is not a single national tea party organization. The increased taxation, government spending, and government regulation that followed the 2008 election cycle sparked a strong grassroots movement that sought to push back against what they believed to be challenges to the principles upon which the United States was originally founded and used the U.S. Constitution as their base. They generated strong support for those legislators who followed their core principles, resulting in a change in the balance of power in the U.S. Congress in 2010, and they continue to exert influence on both local and national elections. The Tea Party lists fifteen "non-negotiable" beliefs. Three of them are--1)Illegal aliens are here illegally; 2) gun ownership is sacred; 3) and English as our core language is required.
