Overview

Key Features

Android Apps

All Android devices support the download of Android apps, written using the Android software development kit (SDK), through the Google Play Store. In June of 2016, there were approximately 2.2 million apps available on the play store.[2] Most apps listed in the Play Store are also available on iOS. Apps range from games, news, and social, but apps that change the looks of the user interface (launchers) are also available.

Interface

The default user interface is controlled by direct manipulation, using touch inputs that correspond with real world actions to carry out on screen tasks. Direct manipulation is designed to provide the user with immediate feedback and give the user a more fluid experience. Android devices boot to the home screens. These home screens are reminiscent to the desktop found on modern day computers and can be customized using apps icons, widgets, and wallpapers.[3]
