Arduino Due with 32-Bit Cortex-M3 ARM Processor[1]

Introduction

Arduino is the worlds largest open source hardware and software distributor. They offer a wide range of both software tools and hardware platforms which allow anyone to build almost anything they want. It originally started as a research project by Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles, Tom Igoe, Gianluca Martino, and David Mellis at the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea during the early 2000's. By 2005, the first Arduino board was made available. [2]

Significance

Arduino is significant because of its aspect of open source. People of all ages are allowed to do whatever they want with the coding and tech. Because of this it is an amazing tool for teaching younger kids how to code.
