History of Computers - Crysis

Crysis is a 2007 science fiction first-person shooter developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. Upon its release, it had what were considered the best graphics of a video game at the time, and was frequently used to test hardware capabilities of computers. Since then, two sequels, Crysis 2 and 3, have been developed and both continue Crysis's legacy of stunning graphics, and even the games' usage as a benchmark.
Overview
Crysis was the most graphically intensive video game developed at the time it was released, and for a few years afterward. Crysis used a multitude of lighting effects to achieve an experience described by some as surreal. Crysis takes place on a Pacific island off the coast of Korea, when the United States sends a Delta force operative to investigate a mysterious alien spacecraft.[1].
Significance
Crysis is significant because it was used to benchmark graphics cards, and it is considered that if a graphics card can handle Crysis, it can handle just about anything. Crysis represents a huge leap in the software realm, as it Crysis strained even some of the best computers of the time when running on maximum settings. [2].
