The Xerox Copier was made to put graphic images and text on paper.

Overview

Chester Carlson, the mastermind of the xerographic process, which was originally called electrophotography, was sold by Xerox Corporations. Carlson discovered that certain materials conduct electricity under light, so he produced a process that transferred images through electrical charges. Read more about Xerox at XEROX PARC.

Significance

The Xerox Copier was a step up from the already existing, Carbon Copier. This new and improved way of making copies was easy and efficient and showed the progress of computer technology.
