Scanner

Scanners are used to transfer pictures and text to a computer. It uses a technology called a photomultiplier tube, or PMT. In PMT, the item about to be scanned is laid on a glass cylinder. At the center, a sensor splits the light on the document into three beams, and each beam is processed through a color filter onto a PMT. Next, light is changed into an electrical signal, and then it is translated into a digital signal.
