that can be used by experts and novices alike.
History
In 1987,while in colledge, Thomas knoll made an early version of Photoshop called Disply it was all in black and white. Than he took a six month break to work on it with his brotrher this was called ImagePro. Later that year, Thomas renamed his project Photoshop he had a total of 200 copies produced, than he showed it to the art director of the Adobe company. This meeting was succesfull and Adobe purchased the rights to distribute in september 1988.

Adobe Photoshop was released one year after CorelDRAW(History of Computers - CorelDRAW), another graphics editor. Differences between the two programs include: Photoshop was first relased for Macintoshes exclusively whereas CorelDRAW was released for windows and Photoshop uses pixels for its images compared to CorelDRAW which uses vector graphics.
