According to Marx, each ruling class in history controlled the means of production and/or distribution and this gave them wealth and the power to rule the other classes. Whenever a newer means of production is discovered there is a conflict between the old ruling class and the class that controls the new and better means of production, usually resulting in a new ruling class made of the users of the better means of production. one example of this theory at work is when the Businessman and money replaced the land and inheritance based Aristocracy.
