Macintosh

Macintosh (well known as “Mac”) is under the company, Apple Inc. Apple makes iPods (music players), the popular iPhone (a touch screen smart phone), and many lines of personal computers under the brand name Macintosh. Today Mac covers the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and the MacBook Air (laptops), the LED Cinema Display, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro (desktops). On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne established Apple. Apple's first computer was the Apple 1. It was a motherboard and a basic textual-video chips handmade by Wozniak. It was sold for $666.66 in July 1976. In the late 1970s, Apple employee Jef Raskin started the Macintosh Project. He wanted to create a low cost computer that anyone could use. The computer was named Macintosh after his favorite kind of apple, McIntosh, but was changed for legal reasons. On January 24, 1984, the Macintosh 128K was released, the first Macintosh and the first computer not to use a command line interface but a graphical user interface and a mouse instead.
