Yao tells how when he was a child how his town was ransacked by pirates, but he had escaped before that had taken place. He tells Hong that he would kill people in his village if it meant he could keep his life. He joined a group called the Lotus and spied on the pirates. Yao is also a spy for the pirates. Yao has devised a plan so that Hong can escape. Yao broke down a loose plank with an ax and it created a loud bang. There was only time for Hong to escape so Yao got caught be the guards. Hong stumbled upon a farmhouse after wondering around for a while and fell asleep. When he woke up he explained to the two farm girls about how he had escaped from pirates and how they mustn't tell anyone about his arrival. The girls explained that their father would turn him in if their dad knew there was an award for turning him in. After staying in the farm for a couple of days Hong decided to leave and continue on his journey. Hong crossed paths with soldiers and demands to meet their leader. After a short fight with one of the soldiers, Hong explains to the soldiers what had happened with the pirates and they agreed to take him to their leader. Hong meets General Ma and tells him everything that happens and delivers the letter to the general.
