Prayag, now know as Allahabad, was an ancient Indian city often mentioned in sacred poetry. The city formed in between the Ganges and the Jumna Rivers, and was seen as a very holy place. Prayag is the city where the Indians believe the universe began the gods and humans were divided. A sacred tree grew their which was guarded by serpent who protected it.
