Where is it located?
Solomon's Temple, or "The First Temple," is located in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, (Mount Zion.)
Why was it built?
Solomon's Temple, according to the Hebrew Bible, was built by the King of the Israelites, Solomon around 10th century B.C.E. The temple was dedicated to Yahweh, the God of the Israelites. The Ark of the Covenant was supposedly housed here. Definition of Ark of the Covenant
