The Geographical Mind

By Doreen Massey

Article One: The point of the first article is to show us examples of how often our geographical imaginations show up in our lives. It is impossible to avoid thinking through the way we understand the world; our geographical imagination is part of our life. The way we see the world controls decisions we make, especially concerning our opinions towards migration, race, and indigenous species. As people, our laws, theories, and ideas rely on our imagination of how the world is organized. A geographer should be able to thouroghly explain all geographical imaginations before anything else.
