Describe the weaknesses of the Song Dynasty.
The Song Dynasty had two main weaknesses, military and financial. The Song put scholars in command of military units who had very little or no military experience. Since the Song did not have military experience it led to weak military commanders.The Song had an enormous bureaucracy which led the Song government to impose higher taxes. With imposing higher taxes there were more rebellions. The Song were faced with two major peasant rebellions in the 12th century. After the end of the rebellions the Song dynasty did not completely recover.
