From SJS Wiki
"Explain how Christianity entered" - Christianity arrived in North Africa as a foreign faith around the first century C.E. Later, about the middle of the fourth century C.E., Axum adopted Christianity. The first Axumite converts were probably local merchants who traded with the Mediterranean Christians and converted to gain an advantage when dealing with Egyptian christian merchants. Missionaries visited Axum and converted the kings, later establishing monasteries and translating the Bible into Ethiopian.
