Baldassare Castiglione was born into a rich family in Italy and his dates were December 6, 1478 – February 2, 1529 he was an Italian courtier, diplomat, soldier and author. His most famous book is The Book of the Courtier which he wrote in 1528. it is based on the Ciceronian humanist ideal of the perfect orator or honest man.[1]

This book had a big impact on the Renaissance in the way that the behavior expectations for a courtier and what his wife should do to assist. He also said the courtier should be nobility and good at certain sports and a good education. Castiglione also wrote some poems that are not as famous. [2]
