There are many differences between Renaissance Europe and the Christian based society of Medieval Europe. Medieval Europe drew all inspiration for art and thought from their main religion, Christianity. Renaissance Europe drew inspiration from the Greek and Roman scholars of the past. Renaissance artists paid closer attention to the details of the human body, studying each muscle and emotion on a face. Artists applied a new technique to make their paintings look more realistic. The sculptures made during this era took into account the tiniest details of the human body, and sculptors posed their models in natural poses as opposed to awkward unrealistic ones. The practice of constructing buildings with domes was brought back by architects across Europe. Renaissance thoughts; however, still remembered those of the Medieval times, though more geared toward education. Scholars named humanists appeared. They were known for their interest in the humanities: literature, history, and moral philosophy. Humanists promoted Christianity in their everyday lives. They prepared Christian texts to be more understandable to their society.
