WHI-Chap6/21-“royal mummies”

Royal mummies were the mummies of deceased kings. The mummies were often brought out of their tombs to commune with the current sappa inca about important matters. This commune was also to ensure that the deceased kings would always be remembered to prevent their social death, which occurred when they were forgotten.
