Wang Wei was a remarkable musician, painter, and calligrapher. He was also a Chinese government official, and he is one of the most famous and talented High Tang Poets. He was born in 699 BCE, and died in 759 BC. Much of his work revolved around nature, and he was a very committed Zen Buddhist.
