Return to History 8 Near East Questions

Of the towns of Canaan, one of the best preserved is Arad. The town of Arad displays many characteristics of its time, most prominently the fact that there were little shows of wealth - All houses were practically the same, clustered together with the same basic plan. These towns also featured a temple, showing that these societies valued religion. In addition, there were urban centers featuring functions for creating tools and pottery. This shows that these cities also had means for trade and basic forms of industry.
