Although there were many advances in the defenses and in weaponry, towns and cities in Canaan were reduced in size due to a global climate change that made the world warmer.  Also, trade with Egypt was gradually weakening, putting even more pressure on the agricultural system and people.  This pressure caused for the agricultural economy to collapse.  People  then turned to smaller scale lives to survive, effectively ending the advances of previous innovations.

History 8 Near East Questions
