Factors that Regulate the Climate

Namibia is on the coast of Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean. Windhoek is in the middle of the city. However, because Windhoek sits on the leeward side of a mountain, it does not get as much cold air from the ocean as it would if it was on the windward side instead. The elevation is not extremely high, so Windhoek is not exceptionally cold. Overall, there are no extreme climates (sea cools it in summer, mountainous air warms it in winter)

Windhoek sits on many metamorphic rocks, such as quartzite, schist, and dolomite. There used to be many sedimentary rocks, but they, over time, have been compressed to form these metamorphic rocks.
