Minoans

The Minoans are one of the ancient peoples of Crete. They did not have great conquests but there are many legends and stories told about them. There is also a legend about how they fell which was disproved. But as the Myceneans, they had a polytheistic religion and their main god was Mother Earth.

Religion

The Minoans followed a polytheistic religion. Most of the evidence for Minoan religion were found in the form of shrines. Shrines found in buildings, small household shrines, cave shrines, etc. But there were also small cult buildings.

Gods

They had many gods. Three were the Snake Goddess, the protectress of the house and palace, the Mistress of Animals, a vegetation goddess, and the Mistress of Nature.
