The Agricultural Revolution was the transition from the nomadic hunting-gathering societies composed of small families to the settled farming societies that were a little larger and did not move. These new bigger groups began to build houses and harvest the grains around them. The Younger Dryas (a very short ice age) broke the the cycle of water around earth, heating up the south and cooling the north, destroying the farming way of life, but not entirely. Some decided to take the food they ate and plant it in the ground.  This idea was the start of actually growing and domesticating of grains. The farming allowed for a dependable source of food which led to a series of events cause by the Agricultural Revolution. The domestication of animals and a farming lifestyle combined, wheat and protein, finally allowed for cities an towns leading to complex societies where people could divide labor and all work together to survive but carry out activities other than work.
