The Jewish people were forced to move from Judah to Babylon; however, the exile formally ended in 538 B.C., when Cyrus the Great, allowed the Jews to return to Palestine.. They adopted the Sumerian innovations, but spoke different language then the Sumerians. They were upper class citizens in society.
