Return to History 8 Human Origins Concepts

The Homo Sapiens evolved in Africa around 200,000 years ago. They gathered and hunted food, and evolved behaviors that helped them respond to the challenges of survival in unstable environments. The reason for this is that at that time Africa was covered with rain forests, but as time went on the rain forests shrunk forcing the Homo Sapiens to adapt. As they adapted they were able to live in a large diversity of habitats. The main reason Homo Sapiens adapted was that they could not survive in a certain environment anymore because it had drastically changed, so they were forced to either move, adapt, or die.
