− | The example in Chapter 11 occurs when the "Eater of Souls" has escaped from the land of the dead and it turns out to be the Pharaoh's role to take care of the issue. For "Only pharaoh has the power to intercede with the gods" (163)." He plans to ask Osiris "to summon Eater of Souls back to the land of the dead" (163). He then warns his servants to "'proceed as if the evil one is mortal until [they] know differently'" (163).
