Nintendo is a company from Japan that makes games. While they did not start out making video games, most of their projects now are in the field of video games.

Overview

Nintendo is a gaming company based in Japan. It first ventured into the field of electronic entertainment in 1974, when it introduced the Magnavox Odyssey. It's popularity increased dramatically in 1981 with the introduction of Donkey Kong. Two years later, Nintendo introduced their own home console: the Famicom, or Nintendo Entertainment System. In 1985 the NES was launched in America, along with the game Super Mario Bros. In 1989, Nintendo released the Game Boy, which is the best selling console of all time. Then, they created the SNES, or Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which surpassed the SEGA Genesis in sales. After that, they made lots of other products which were also very popular with include the Nintendo 64 and the Wii.
