Irrigation, the process of watering land to make it ready for agriculture, was essential during the Neolithic Revolution. It brought full societies together to work on a project, which established leadership. Many early irrigation systems required around 1000 people to create. Irrigation was one of the elements that created a more dependable food source due to the fact that it allowed more crops to be watered more easily.
