he was born March 6, 1475 and died February 18, 1564. He was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer. He, like Leonardo da Vinci is a good example of a Renaissance man, Leonardo was also his rival. Michelangelo had 2 biographies published during his lifetime. He was one of the best-documented artists of the 16th century. He had many works including sculptures and frescos including the Sistine Chapel which he painted from 1508 to 1512.
