The Tao itself refers to a power which envelops, surrounds and flows through all things, regulates natural processes and sustains balance in the universe, and embodies the harmony of opposites . It is important to note that Taoism does not seek to reconcile these contradictions as the West does with rationalism, but views them in juxtaposition, side by side.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of martial arts. It is usually practiced for its various health benefits. It is kind of like aerobics, in that doing Tai Che regularly is a great way to stay in shape. It was made to channel your chi and to create balance between Yin and Yang. In some places, Tai Chi is used as a martial art for fighting. these places will often have demonstrations in which students will fight each other using Tai Chi.

The Yellow River was one of the main sources of sustenance for the people living in upper China. Most cities in North China are located near the Yellow River because of the alluvial plains that surround it and the water that is available for crops and agriculture.
