Minoans government

Evidence tells us that the Minoan government was a bureaucratic monarchy. The government was dominated by the priests. After the priests came the king, who was followed by a large administration of scribes and bureaucrats who carefully regulated production and distribution. They kept detailed records of everything, which tells us they controlled a large piece of the economy. This is called a bureaucratic monarchy.

Mycenaeans government

Mycenaeans seemed to derive very closely with the Minoans, though there were giant differences. First off they were ruled by a monarch, or a wanax, who ruled over a large administration and was in more ways than none bureaucratic. The kings of this society were very wealthy although they did not share their wealth with their people. These kings also acted as warlords and their people very warlike as well, always actively looking for trouble. Their cities were fortresses, heavy with thick tall walls. It has been recorded, in many accounts, of their invasion and raids. They raided the Egyptians, invaded the Hittites, and even brought down Crete after a series of Earthquakes. Heinrich Schliemann discovered a burial sight with many swords and warlike weapons which give proof that they were warlike people as well.

Mycenaeans religion - BA

The Myceneanaens believed in foreign gods, headed by the sky-god. They adopted the Minoan goddesses at some point, who they later associated with their sky-god. The Mycenaeans used offerings and sacrifices to show their gratitude towards the gods. The Mycenaean religion was polytheistic, the belief in one or more gods, and actively syncretistic, the attempted amalgamation of different religions, schools, or thoughts. Anna Brooks Pacha
