Khafre was the fourth Pharaoh of Egypt and the son of Khufu. He is thought to have ruled Egypt from 2,520 to 2,494 BC during the Old Kingdom. Khafre was a gifted king who built a Great Pyramid in Giza. In addition, he is believed to be the face of the Great Sphinx.

Menkarua is the grandson of Khufu and the son of Khafre, and was Khafre's succession to the throne. He also ruled during the Old Kingdom and was in the fourth dynasty. He was the last Great Pyramid Builder in Giza, with his Pyramid being the smallest out of the Great Pyramids. He reigned from 2,532-2,504 BC. His reign is believed to have lasted either 28 or 26 years.
